Calculations for number of chairs
Based on the waiting room dimensions entered, this is the calculated number of bariatric chairs that will fit. Number of chairs is calculated based on 16 sf for a typical chair and 30 sf for a bariatric chair/loveseat. A ratio of 1 bariatric chair for every 4 typical chairs is used.
The tool uses the following heuristic to calculate the number of chairs: Using the total square footage, we subtract the square footage assigned to one bariatric chair, then subtract the square footage assigned to typical chairs (up to four unless square footage is depleted). Continue this cycle until the remaining square footage is depleted.
