Take the EDAC* Examination at the PDC Summit 2012

December 7, 2011

The PDC Summit 2012 is March 4 – 7 in Phoenix, AZ. This international summit and exhibition on health facility planning, design and construction is composed of senior leaders from hospitals, architecture firms, and construction companies who are interested in working together to advance the healthcare built environment.

This year, PDC attendees have the opportunity to take the EDAC examination onsite at the conference. The EDAC exam establishes standards that qualify an evidence-based design (EBD) process and assess an individual’s ability to understand and implement this process into healthcare construction, renovation, expansions, and replacement facilities.

Healthcare planners, architects, interior designers, engineers, contractors, as well as anyone in the management team of a healthcare organization that has direct responsibility for planning and designing buildings should consider becoming EDAC certified. There are no prerequisites for sitting for the examination.

Pre-registration for the EDAC exam is required by February 3. Space is limited so don’t delay!

Benefits of becoming EDAC certified include:

• Public recognition of your expertise
• Increased value with clients and employers
• Ability to share a common language
• Skills to incorporate the newest findings into projects
• Credibility when justifying expenditures associated with design decisions and innovations
• Ability to create new research and add to the body of knowledge to advance the industry
• Visibility on a roster of certified EBD professionals
