The Center for Health Design has hired a new third-party testing service to administer the Evidence-based Design Accreditation and Certification (EDAC) program. Starting in mid-June 2011, Castle Worldwide, Inc. begins accepting EDAC candidates using its computer-based testing network of more than 500 domestic (U.S. and Canada) test centers, and over 175 international testing centers.
What does this mean for candidates?
- Effective May 26, 2011: Candidates must submit EDAC exam applications to The Center for Health Design. Applications submitted to our previous test administrator, AMP, will not be processed. Notifications will be sent to current applicants with instructions on how to proceed. Until our new online registration is available in mid-June, please download and complete this application.
- July 15, 2011: Final day to test at AMP locations. Candidates who submitted their application before May 26, 2011 should schedule to take the exam by July 15, 2011 at AMP testing locations. If you cannot schedule your test before July 15, please contact The Center for Health Design at 925-521-9404.
- Mid-June 2011: New applicants may apply online for the EDAC exam. Our new testing administrator, Castle, will begin processing online applications. Candidates will be able to create an online log-in to access their records at any time.
- September 2011: Renew your EDAC credentials online. Certified individuals will be able to submit their CEUs through Castle's Candidate Management System, monitor their progress and view their submissions.
Summary of Changes:
- Candidates will now be able to securely apply and pay for the EDAC exam electronically. Upon completion of Castle's application, candidates will receive a notice to schedule by email and will prompt users to the online scheduling system. View the list of Castle testing sites.
- Candidates will have 24-hour access to their account online to view their status, schedule exams, and renew their certification.
- The price of the EDAC exam will be increased to $335 (U.S. and Canada), and $400 (International) due to the change in testing administrators and benefits of online account management. Existing discounts and special offers will continue to be applicable.
